COLD-FORMED STEEL

Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) services at AES help contractors and architects design and produce steel framing elements for load-bearing and non-load-bearing assemblies including walls, floors, ceilings, trusses, soffits, gables, and decorative, architectural features in all types of construction. AES has designed CFS systems for wall studs, floor joists, rafters, truss members, floors, roofs, and walls. Once erected, CFS can be covered by brick, stucco, siding, or other materials.

Involving AES in the CFS design early in the project’s development phase offers multiple benefits, including…

  • Added engineering capabilities and service attention

  • Definition of the CFS system on the contract drawings to level the playing field for bidders and to help lower the final construction cost

  • Pre-planning in the design phase for CFS details and plans

  • Drawing adaptations during design to increase the efficiency of the CFS system
