FORENSIC ENGINEERING

We are often been asked to act as forensic engineers or expert witnesses to the adjudication of structural problems. Critical to any evaluation is the Structural Condition Survey: a detailed evaluation of the structure performed by AES outlining existing conditions, evaluating the structure, diagnosing problems and offering recommendations for rehabilitation and repair. Our extensive structural evaluation experience has been beneficial in the support of insurance companies and attorneys during disputes and litigation, to properly diagnose structural problems, and to evaluate documents and structural services for issues concerning structural engineering standard of care.

We have qualified structural engineers submitting opinions under oath, and we are well versed in supporting attorneys in preparation for mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials. We have reviewed structural problems ranging from deflection, structural distress, and settlement issues to fire damage, storm damage, and partial or total structural collapse, and we have even evaluated explosion sites. Spanning more than three decades, we have a long history of evaluating, rehabilitating, and repairing structures from Brunswick, Maine, to Key West, Florida.
